Books of 2023
Books of 2023: We’re just getting started! If you haven’t already, be sure to check out my Books of 2022 post. I will frequently update this list throughout the year, but I’d love to hear what your thoughts are about any of these books, what you’re reading, or if you have any recommendations!
01 Eleanor Oliphant is Completely Fine
A heartwarming, easy read about Eleanor, a social misfit with a traumatic past, + the importance of friendship.
A must read for everyone! As told by Dr. Victor Frankl, on his experience as a psychiatrist, prisoner, + survivor of the Holocaust + his psychotherapeutic approach to finding a purpose in life.
A great read about trauma + the lasting effects on the human body. Would highly recommend for anyone – but especially for healthcare providers, teachers, caregivers, etc. to gain a more trauma-informed perspective.
A thriller set around a wedding with lots of plot twists + turns! Although it felt like there was a big build up to the wedding itself, the plot was intriguing + held my attention.
Another thriller, written by the same author as The Guest List. The plot is set around a large Paris Apartment building + its residents, with a complicated background. It kept me guessing the entire time.
A psychological thriller about a therapist + one of his patients – a woman who killed her husband. I never expected the plot twist at the end!
07 Finding Me
The story of Viola Davis, from her childhood, growing up in Rhode Island to her life in Hollywood + everything inbetween. A wonderful story of growth, inspiration, + courage.
